FYI

Mrs. McLain and Mrs. Duke are very proud of their team’s students who made house leaders and assistant leaders. Each house was represented by the team!

Congratulations to this year’s Church Hill Middle School Amazing Shake Champion… Jase Hammonds, 5th Grade!
After several rounds of competition involving students from 5th–8th grade, Jase came out on top as this year’s overall winner! Students competed in challenges that tested communication skills, professionalism, confidence, and leadership.
The final round took place in front of the entire school, where the Top 3 finalists delivered speeches before a panel of judges. Jase did an outstanding job and impressed everyone with his poise and speaking abilities!
A special thank you to Senator Harshberger and State Representative Gary Hicks for their presence and participation in this event. We also want to thank our judges: incoming CHMS principal Amy McAbee, local business owner Travis Christian, and Mount Carmel Mayor John Gibson.
We are so proud of all of our students who participated and represented CHMS so well. Congratulations again, Jase!

Tuesday, 5/18 - We will begin the day at 8:15 with Amazing Shake Speeches, an introduction from new principal Amy McAbee, House Games, and more! Parents are welcome to attend in the 7/8 gym as we also announce next year's House Leaders and the winning House! Afterwards, all students will go to the football field with opportunities to get wet with water fights with teachers (if they have TCAP tickets to participate) or if they are in the winning House. Students may want to bring a change of clothes for this fun-filled day of water and play to celebrate all of their hard work for the year!
Parents/Guardians: Unfortunately, we have been informed that yearbooks will not arrive until May 29th. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
As soon as the yearbooks arrive, we will send out additional information regarding pickup details. We are also planning a special day this summer for students to gather and sign each other’s annuals. More information on that will be shared soon!
Parents/Guardians: Tomorrow, we will have the Beach Hut food truck on campus! Students will have the opportunity to purchase an Icee during the school day. Prices are $3 for an 8 oz Icee or $5 for a 12 oz Icee. Please send money with your student if you would like for them to participate.
Due to our busy end-of-year schedule, students will not have time to call home for money, so please be sure to send it with them in the morning if they plan to purchase an Icee.
